Gothic FireplaceHistory: During the late Georgian period at the end of the 18th century there were many fads as the monied classes attempted to re-create the fashions of a bygone era. One of these fads was the Gothic Revival. Grand country houses aped the enormous open fireplaces of this time and mimicked their simple yet imposing lines. Colour / Texture: Light beige limestone hand rubbed and aged. Character: Very popular in traditional, period and country properties.
