Antique Blanc Rose Terracotta
History: Blanc Rose reclaimed antique terracotta were hand made and fired in wood burning kilns in the 17th and 18th centuries. They are found in what is a relatively small area of the Loire Valley and as such are now the rarest of antique terracotta. Colour / Texture: The method of making and firing the tiles in wood burning kilns created a varied texture. The colour was determined by the type of earth found in each particular region. Blanc Rose is predominantly a creamy pink tile with tinges of white. Character: Very popular in traditional, period and country properties. This unique tile is heavily used in kitchens and conservatories owing to its subtle blend of colours and visual softness. Points to note: 1) Size and thickness can vary from batch to batch as the tiles were hand made, sizes given are therefore nominal ones. 2) As larger orders are sometimes sourced from more than one batch of tiles it is best to bed the material in sand and cement with a generous allowance for this type of variance. 3) As antique terracotta is a collection of colours and hues it is advisable to mix the tiles from all crates prior to being laid. This will avoid problems with the colour variation of the finished floor. Usage: Interiors only. Pricing: All prices are ex-UK depot plus delivery and sales tax or VAT as appropriate.
